Ο Κοθιανός Κωνστάντιος επιχειρεί κι αυτός, όπως και ο ομώνυμος Αυτοκράτορας, στα ανατολικά (σεμιτικά) εδάφη και επίσης έχει κληρονομήσει, κατά την μεταγραφή του Howard, την σκληρότητα που έδειξε ο ρωμαίος Κωνστάντιος απέναντι στους (πιθανώς για αυτόν ανταπαιτητές του θρόνου του) συγγενείς του - μόνο ο Ιουλιανός γλύτωσε και αυτός γιατί πρόλαβε τον επελαύνοντα κατά αυτού από την Ανατολή Κωνστάντιο ο θάνατος το 361 μΧ.
